In order to guarantee optimum skiing/snowboarding pleasure and to prolong the service life of the equipment, it is important to keep it in good condition. Our maintenance experts prepare your ski or snowboard with the latest "state of the art" equipment. In order to avoid unnecessary time pressure, it is important to bring the material for maintenance in good time. We ask you to remove the bindings from a snowboard beforehand.

MAINTENANCE DURATION

AMSTERDAM 

The current duration of our maintenance service in Amsterdam is 1-2 weeks. If you hand in your gear before Thursday, you can come back to collect it 1 week later on Thursday (afternoon). When you hand it in after Thursday, your gear will be ready for pick up 2 weeks later on Thursday (afternoon).

Please note: adjusted maintenance schedule (December)

If you drop off your items by Thursday 11 December 2025, you can pick them up on Thursday 18 December 2025 (from Tuesday afternoon). Any items dropped off after 11 December 2025 will be ready on Monday 22 December 2025 (from Tuesday afternoon).

Items dropped off after 18 December 2025 will be ready on Wednesday 31 December 2025.

DEN HAAG 

The current duration of our maintenance service in The Hague is 4 days. If you hand in your gear before Wednesday, you can collect it Saturday after 13pm. If you hand in your gear before Saturday, it will be ready for you again on Thursday.

If you drop off your items before Wednesday, 24 December, you can pick them up on Wednesday, 31 December (from Wednesday afternoon).

LANDGRAAF

The current duration of our maintenance service in Landgraaf is 1-2 weeks. If you hand in your gear before Tuesday, you can come back to collect it 1 week later on Tuesday (afternoon). When you hand it in after Tuesday, your gear will be ready for pick up 2 weeks later on Tuesday (afternoon).

If you drop off your items before Tuesday, 23 December, you can pick them up on Wednesday, January 7 (from Wednesday afternoon.

RUCPHEN 

If you hand in your gear at our maintenance service in Rucphen, it will be ready for pick up after max. 1 week.

The current duration of our maintenance service in Terneuzen is 1-2 weeks.

ZOETERMEER

The current duration of our maintenance service in Zoetermeer is 4 days. If you hand in your gear before Wednesday, you can collect it on Saturday after 12pm. If you hand in your gear before Saturday, it will be ready for you again on Wednesday from 12pm.

AMSTERDAM 

Hand in your skis or snowboard for maintenance on or before May 11th, and they will be ready for pick-up in the store from Friday, May 30th. After this period, the maintenance service will be closed until September.

DEN HAAG 

The current duration of our maintenance service in The Hague is 1-2 weeks. If you hand in your gear before Wednesday, you can come back to collect it 1 week later on Thursday. When you hand it in after Wednesday, your gear will be ready for pick up 2 weeks later on Thursday.

LANDGRAAF

The current maintenance duration in Terneuzen is 1-2 weeks.

ZOETERMEER

The current maintenance duration in Zoetermeer is 2-3 weeks. If you drop off your equipment before Wednesday, you can pick it up two weeks later starting Wednesday afternoon. If you drop off your equipment after Wednesday, it will be ready three weeks later starting Wednesday afternoon.

SMALL SKI
In a small ski maintenance service your skis will first be cleaned and pre-sharpened. Then the steel edges will be sharpened to the right angle and the base layer will be given a good structure by stone grinding. Then the steel edges are tuned for good grip and easy turning. Finally, your skis will be warmly waxed and polished as a finishing touch.

SMALL SUPER SKI
In a small ski super service your skis will first be cleaned and pre-sharpened. After that the steel edges will be pre-sharpened and the base layer will be given the optimal vario structure by stone grinding. Then the steel edges are radially tuned for an extremely good grip and even more turning power. Finally, your skis are pre-heated by infrared heat, after which they are given a warm wax layer twice and polished as a finishing touch.

LARGE SKI
In case of a major ski maintenance, your skis will first be cleaned and roughly pre-sharpened so that the deeper damages will be pressed closed by the P-Tex Master. Then the excess filling material will be ground away and the base layer will be given a new structure by means of stone grinding. Then the steel edges are ground and tuned for good grip and easy turning. Finally, your skis will be warmly waxed and polished as a finishing touch.

LARGE SUPER SKI
In a large ski super service, your skis will first be cleaned and roughly pre-sharpened so that the deeper damages are pressed by the P-Tex Master. Then the excess filler material will be ground away and the base layer will be given the optimal vario structure by stone grinding. Then the steel edges are sharpened and radially tuned for an extremely good grip and even more turning power. Finally, your skis are pre-heated by infrared heat and then they are waxed twice and polished as a finishing touch.

HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY SKIS OR SNOWBOARD?

If you want to keep your skis or snowboard in top condition, you should take good care of your equipment. The belay (running surface of the ski/snowboard) should not dry out, the steel edges should remain sharp and rust-free, and the ski bindings should be checked every year. You can bring your skis or snowboard to our shops, but a lot of the work can also be done yourself.

WHAT CAN I DO MYSELF?

A lot of maintenance can be done yourself. For simple maintenance jobs, such as waxing and sharpening, you don't need a lot of equipment. Ideal for updating your equipment during a holiday.

WAXING

Waxing a snowboard or ski is quite simple. Wax regularly, a well waxed ski/snowboard is more durable but above all it glides much better. Before waxing, make the snowboard or skis dry and clean. Make sure the ski/snowboard is at temperature (not freezing). Melt and spread the wax on the base with an iron. Spread the wax in the direction of the ski. The wax must never smoke. If the wax begins to smoke during melting it will lose all its gliding properties. When the wax is dry, scrape off all excess wax with a special wax scraper (hard plastic plate) in pushing movements in the direction of glide. Finally brush the wax with a special wax brush in the direction of glide (this creates grooves in the wax which make the ski glide even better)!

HOW OFTEN?

Regular waxing is a must. Once a week is certainly not excessive. If you carry out other maintenance work on your skis or board in addition to waxing, do this before waxing. Waxing is literally the finishing touch.

WHICH TYPE OF WAX?

There are many types on the market. From extremely expensive competition waxes to cheaper universal waxes. If you do not ski to a tenth of a second a universal wax, which is suitable for all temperatures, will do just fine. Possibly, for the real hobbyist, several waxes are for sale in order to prepare the skis properly for every temperature. But again a good all-round wax works fine for most skiers. Personally I wax a lot with a so-called cold wax, because this wax is harder and keeps the ski in condition for longer. At the moment we have 4 basic waxes in our range:

  • Betamix Red; the basic wax. Ideal to use as a first wax layer.
  • Alphamix Yellow; for the warmer temperatures and good to use for waxing skis/snowboards clean.
  • Ultramix Blue: for colder temperatures.
  • Indoor hot wax: because the wax is harder than the other three, this is the perfect base if you do a lot of indoor skiing/snowboarding.

On top of the basic wax layer you can easily apply another layer to increase your glide speed. If you apply a fluorine wax (increases speed), make sure that you never use the fluorine wax as a base layer. This causes the pores to burn and the skis to dry out.
