History of SIDAS
Loïc David was determined to make French ski boots more comfortable than the American competition, which at the time was leading the way in a booming market. While on a beach in Hawaii, he saw a footprint in the sand and this gave him the ingenious idea of creating an insole that would be moulded directly to the shape of the foot resting on it. Loïc David had the idea, but no equipment to try it out. He had to make do with an oven dish to form his first insoles. Joining forces with Jacques Martin and Gabriel Pellicot, he soon launched SIDAS. This was followed by a period of patent registrations and development of new equipment, products and machines, always keeping in mind that the end result should be comfortable, high-tech and beautiful. Their personalities and beliefs placed Sidas on the fast-growing ski market. By combining the passion for sport with the skills of experts, top athletes and orthopaedic centres, Sidas continues to succeed in its projects.
