Vans snowboard shoes
The Vans snowboard shoe is inspired by the skateboard shoe. Most boarders know the Vans snowboard shoes with the classic laces, but nowadays Vans also produces boots with a speed lacing system. They are made for jabbing through the park, but also for hitting the powder off-piste and the occasional accelerator.
History of Vans snowboard shoes
Vans introduced the Vans Snowboard Boot in the fall '93 / winter '94 snow season. In 1998 Daniel Franck wins an Olympic silver medal in Vans snowboard boots at the Nagano Winter Olympics. At the next Winter Olympics, it's back to normal, as Danny Kass and Doriane Vidal each win medals at the Salt Lake City Olympics wearing Vans snowboard boots.
Vans will celebrate 20 years of snowboard heritage with the debut of the retrospective film Twenty Years: Off the Wall, On the Snow, produced in collaboration with Mike Hatchett, legendary filmmaker and founder of Standard Films.
