Pros and cons

  • Performs on-piste and in powder
The directional shape and 3D base give you edge grip when carving on groomed runs and float the moment you drop into fresh snow.
  • Smooth edge-to-edge transitions
The SideKick shape raises the base edges at the nose and tail, leaving your steel edges slightly clear of the snow so turns initiate more fluidly.
  • Light and lively
The poplar and paulownia core is light yet solid, with enough pop and dampening to keep riding fun all day long.
  • Surprisingly switch-friendly
Reviewers note that despite its directional character, the board rides switch remarkably well.
  • Stable at speed
On hard or icy snow the edges hold their grip confidently, even when you're pushing the pace.
  • Rewards experience
With its medium flex and freeride character, the Thunderstorm gives the most back when you already have a solid foundation and ride with commitment.

Description

The Bataleon Thunderstorm is built for the advanced snowboarder who wants to ride the whole mountain. The board is built around a directional 3D shape that sharpens your carving on-piste and adds float in powder. The SideKick shape raises the base edges at the nose and tail, leaving your steel edges slightly clear of the snow so turns initiate more smoothly. The core combines poplar and paulownia: light, durable, and well balanced between pop and dampening. Medium flex, directional shape, 3D base: one board for groomed runs, fresh snow, and everything in between.

Features

Level: Advanced. You need a solid foundation to drive the board properly and get the most out of it.

Type of snowboarder / riding style: All-mountain freeride: at home on-piste, but in its element the moment you venture off it or drop into powder. Ideal if you want one board that can handle the whole mountain.

Edge grip: Strong edge hold on hard and icy snow, even at speed. The SideKick shape ensures turns initiate smoothly and your steel edges maintain reliable grip throughout.

Stability: Reviewers consistently highlight high-speed stability as one of the Thunderstorm's greatest strengths, even on technical or uneven terrain.

Why choose the Bataleon Thunderstorm?
