Description

Pros and cons

  • MIPS
A low-friction layer between the outer shell and the liner provides extra protection against rotational forces in a fall.
  • Aramid-reinforced liner
A layer of aramid in the liner increases penetration protection, giving you extra confidence in demanding terrain.
  • Adjustable ventilation
The vents can be opened and closed, so you can fine-tune the temperature inside the helmet as conditions change.
  • Precise fit
The 360° adjustment system at the back lets you dial in the fit exactly, even with gloves on.
  • Soft ear pads
The removable ear pads are comfortable to wear and let enough ambient sound through.
  • Runs small
The helmet comes up slightly smaller than the stated size suggests, so if you're in doubt, go a size up.

Description

The POC Fornix MIPS is an all-round helmet for skiing and snowboarding. Its in-mould construction bonds the outer shell directly to the foam, and this is reinforced by an aramid layer in the liner for added penetration protection. MIPS adds a low-friction layer between the outer shell and the liner. Goggle chimneys channel moisture away from your goggles, and a fixed goggle clip keeps them securely in place.

Features

Construction: In-mould construction bonds the outer shell directly to the foam, complemented by a helmet rim shell for extra durability and an aramid layer in the liner for increased penetration protection.

Fit and looks: The 360° adjustment system at the back lets you fine-tune the fit for a secure and comfortable feel all day long, even with gloves on. The closure is a click buckle.

Extras: Removable, soft ear pads that can also be worn separately from the helmet. Goggle chimneys channel moisture away from your goggles. Fixed goggle clip at the back. Compatible with POC goggles. Available in XXS (48-52 cm), XS/S (51-54 cm), M/L (55-58 cm) and XL/XXL (59-62 cm).

Ventilation: The vents are fully adjustable, so you can adapt the airflow inside the helmet to suit the weather and your level of effort.

Safety: MIPS (Mips Brain Protection System) places a low-friction layer between the outer shell and the liner, allowing the helmet to move slightly relative to your head in an angled impact, providing extra protection against rotational forces. The aramid-reinforced liner increases penetration protection. Certified to EN 1077 Class B, which leaves the ears more open for better ventilation and greater awareness of ambient sound.

Why choose the POC Fornix MIPS?

The POC Fornix MIPS brings together MIPS, an aramid-reinforced liner, adjustable ventilation and goggle chimneys that keep your goggles free from moisture. The 360° adjustment system gives you a precise fit that stays comfortable throughout the day. Do bear in mind that the helmet runs slightly smaller than the stated size. Pop into Duijvestein Winterstore to try the POC Fornix MIPS on for yourself, because a helmet that sits perfectly without shifting or pressing is something you notice straight away.
